“Custody has been adapted for a Balaji serial. Everybody tells me it’s dead awful. My thought really was that anybody who saw that (serial) would come back to the book. I still hope that, and maybe it’s happening,” says Kapur.

“Balaji has bought rights for my other book, The Immigrant, and I’m actually fine with that. They have told me they are going to deviate from it. So many episodes, I think 700...My friends say you shouldn’t do this. But my book is my book and once it’s out there, I’m okay with whatever happens with it,” adds Kapur. Is her new book, Brothers, garnering interest of production houses too? “No. Nobody is queuing up to adapt it.” she says.
