As a member of one of the world’s best-known political dynasties, Fatima Bhutto has seen several historic events — many of them tragic — up close. These include the murder of her father and the assassination of her aunt, Benazir Bhutto. In her book Songs of Blood and Sword: A Daughter’s Memoir, the author tells the tale of her family’s and her nation’s often-tumultuous history.

The book, published by Penguin India and releasing at The Taj Mahal Hotel today, is also about Bhutto’s love for her father Murtaza and her search to uncover, and to understand, the truth of his life and the events surrounding his death when she was just 14.
