It’s often that we come across books that talk about spirituality and related themes, but most use jargons and heavy words to make a point. This book, too, aims to disseminate the message of hope and following one’s heart over mind, but does it succinctly. Though most self help books convey a similar message, where this book scores is in its simplicity and earnestness. The author, Japanese guru Master Ryuho Okawa, talks about his personal journey and his transformation from a money-seeking, competitive employee of a large firm to a guru with a spiritually awakened soul. The underlying theme of the book is — put your life in your own hands. Okawa has started Happy Science, a community that calls itself “a worldwide movement for the happiness of humanity.”
Clearly, he takes his job seriously and in many instances, the message comes across well. But some examples are far too simplistic and one feels that the author should have elaborated on certain concepts and chapters.
