For pear-shaped women

Women with ample hips and thighs but a narrow waist have to strike a balance between fats, proteins and carbohydrates. In case women wish to lose substantial weight from the hips and thighs, but not much from the chest, a few guidelines can come in handy:

Cleanse your body: Drink vegetable juices and soups.

Do not follow a low-calorie diet plan as it will make you lose weight from the face and the neck, before reaching its target zone: the hips and thighs.

Avoid refined oil and eat healthy nuts and oil seeds such as almonds, peanuts and sunflower seeds. They help create a healthy hormonal cycle.

Include healthy proteins such as sprouts, tofu and dals in your diet. Non-vegetarians should eat more eggs and fish. Avoid fruit juices, but drink lots of vegetable juice.

Avoid white sugar and sweets as they will add weight to the hips.

Don’t eat lots of paneer or processed cheese.

Get massages and steam treatments for better blood circulation and improved skin texture.

Eat at frequent intervals. Don’t skip meals as that sets into motion a cycle of starvation, bingeing, insulin fluctuation and fat gain.

Do warm-up. Cardio exercises followed by exercises for the core (abdomen and back muscles) will help.fight obesity triggered by stress.

Sweet temptation: Avoid white sugar and all sweets as they add fat to the hips.

Women who put on weight during stressful phases of their life should follow these tips:

Cut all kinds of sugar from your diet.

Cut down on gas producing foods like tea, coffee, cauliflower, cabbage and broccoli.

Drink a lot of vegetable soups as they are rich in nutrition and prevent the formation of gas.

Eat breakfast every day and keep your dinner light.

Eat natural oil seeds and nuts.

Start meditation and pranayama to relax the mind.
