Actress, singer and former VJ Sophie Choudry says that Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is the toughest thing she has ever done.

If not a singer, you would have been...

A diplomat! I speak several languages, I’m fascinated by international relations and graduated in Politics and French.

Singing or dancing: which is more demanding and why?

Singing. It’s what I live for. But the toughest thing I have ever done is Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. The stunts, tricks, lifts and dance styles that you only have a few days to learn are extremely tough, but so much fun!

A dance form you are dying to learn.

Performing on aerial silk. It’s so tough, but so beautiful.

Who is the best dancer in Bollywood?

While Sridevi, Madhuri, Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai are great, no one can match Govinda! Karisma was the best with Western styles, Katrina is lovely to watch and Varun has fantastic energy!

An iconic dance number you would have loved to do.

Dhak Dhak
or Kaate Nahin Katte! Munni Badnam Hui is one of my favourites. And it would be amazing to dance like Helen on Piya Tu or Mehbooba.

A singer who inspires you.

Beyoncé. She is a complete performer, an incredible voice and is superlative on stage.

If you woke up as a man you would...

Treat every woman like a queen!

The most romantic reel pair.

SRK and Kajol.

The theme song of your life.

I’m A Survivor
by Destiny’s Child.

The craziest thing a fan did for you.

A fan once sent me gifts every hour on my birthday. Too sweet!

A black dress or a black sari.

On screen, a black sari because the one I wore in Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara got so much response. In real life, a black dress.

Five things in your bag.

Wallet, phone, perfume, lipstick and water.

How do you keep fit?

Pilates, four times a week.

Your strategy in a crisis?

Turn to my mum. She is my backbone.

One thing you never leave home without

My positive attitude!

Your favourite street food.

Banana roti in Thailand.

A Movie you love to watch again and again?
Notting Hill
, Pretty Woman and DDLJ

An old Hindi film number you would love to dance to
Jumma Chumma
