Tell us, Sonakshi, what’s the best and the worst thing about Bollywood?

The best thing about our industry is the reach it has, it touches lives in so many ways. And the bad thing is the lack of privacy (for me): one is always being scrutinised and judged for everything.

One word that describes you best?

Asli, which means real.

What makes you feel sexy…?

Sexy is an attitude and how you carry yourself.

If you had chosen your own name, what would it be?

My dad named me Sonakshi (meaning golden eyes) the moment he saw me. I feel it’s the perfect name.

One movie of your father that you would have loved to be a part of…?

Khudgarz (1987). The movie has so much of drama and entertainment.

One fashion era that you really love and why?

The ’50s: it was all so elegant then.

The most experimental thing you’ve done with your hair is...?

I went totally blond some months back with my Streax hair colour.

Instagram or Twitter, which app do you prefer?

Instagram as I love posting pictures.

One food you can never eat...?

Tomato. I love ketchup, but can’t eat raw tomato.

Sonakshi’s Favourites

Cuisine: Indian

Destination: Maldives

Side of bed: Left

Person: Mom

Party song: Banja Tu Meri Rani from Tumhari Sulu (2017)

The last thing you do before going to bed is…

I watch something on my iPad.

Fitness for you is…

Now, a way of life.
