NEW DELHI: Declining for the 18th straight month in May, exports dipped by 0.79% to $22.17 billion, against a year-ago, due to a slowdown in global demand. Imports, too, contracted by 13.16% to $28.44 billion in the month under review, against $32.75 billion in May 2015. Gold imports contracted for the fourth consecutive month by 39.14% to $1.47 billion. Overall, trade deficit narrowed to $6.27 billion, from $10.4 billion a year ago. .
