Govt clears Airtel­-Aircel 4G spectrum trading deal

NEW DELHI: The telecom ministry has cleared the 3,500-crore 4G spectrum trading deal between service providers Bharti Airtel and Aircel, an official source said.

NEW DELHI: The telecom ministry has cleared the 3,500-crore 4G spectrum trading deal between service providers Bharti Airtel and Aircel, an official source said. “The deal was cleared by the telecom minister on July 4. When contacted, Bharti Airtel declined to comment. The deal gives Airtel rights to use Aircel’s 4G spectrum in eight telecom circles, including Chennai, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Bengal, Assam, the North-East, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
