Bloomberg, a venture controlled by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, rivals Thomson Reuters in the world market for financial information and news for markets and also has a wider media offering that includes a television channel.
UTV has a finger in everything from movie production to gaming and animation.

UTVi, launched last year, rivals CNBC TV18 and NDTV Profit and the recently launched ET Now. The joint channel will also offer political news.

“We will welcome 30 million households in India to Bloomberg’s community of more than 200 million television households, who make up the most affluent and influential audience in the world,” Andy Lack, chief executive officer of Bloomberg’s Multimedia Group, said in a statement.
