Carrefour to open first India outlet

French retail giant Carrefour Group is set to start its wholesale business in India over the next couple of months. The company, which is second largest retailer in the world, will open its first cash-and-carry store at Seelampur in Northeast Delhi over the next two-three months.

“The cash-and-carry store at Seelampur will be spread across 55,000 sq ft and offer more than 30,000 different product categories,” said Jean Noel Bironneau, managing director Carrefour India.

He refused to divulge details.
