Exide sees sales increasing 39 pc on expansion

Exide expects sales to grow 39 percent in the year to March 2008 to Rs 2,600 crore on increased volumes from expansion

Auto and industrial battery maker Exide Industries Ltd expects sales to grow 39 percent in the year to March 2008 to Rs 2,600 crore on increased volumes from expansion, a top official said. The company on Fri- day said net profit rose 49 percent to Rs 38.51 crore in JanuaryMarch. However, sales at Rs 530 crore beat analyst view of Rs 510 crore. "The growth came from volumes and price increase," Chairman S.B Ganguly said.
