HDFC Bank hikes base rate to 10% effective November 2

HDFC Bank on Tuesday increased its base rate by 20 basis points to 10%, effective Nov 2. This is the first time any bank has raised its lending rate in response to RBI’s recent 25 bps repo rate hike.

Private sector HDFC Bank Ltd on Tuesday increased its minimum lending rate, or base rate, by 20 basis points (bps) to 10%, effective November 2, a notification on the bank’s website said.
