While the company saw good volume growth, rising expenditure ate into its net profit. Expenditure grew by 15% to Rs 4,881 crore during the quarter. Also exceptional gains (from the sale of properties) during the period tripled to Rs 58 crore on account of property sales.
Revenue rose by 15% to Rs 5,504 crore during the April-June quarter against Rs 4,794 crore in the year-ago period.
HUL’s consumer business was driven by a strong 8.3% underlying volume growth, with double-digit growth across segments.
“This is the fourth consecutive quarter of double-digit growth led by a combination of innovations, market development and relentless focus on execution,” said Harish Manwaniâ, chairman, HUL.
