India makes their mark at the RichList with 111 billionaires

Away from predictions of global gloom and doom, Hurun Global RichList 2016 shows an increase of 99 billionaires to the list of global of the wealthy taking the number up to 2188.
# Asia is the world’s new billionaire’s hub; China overtook USA to top the pack, while India added 14 to its list of richie rich for 2016.
# From 97 in 2015, India now has 111 billionaires with RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani at 21 in the global list of the wealthy.
# Data released by Hurun RichList 2016 shows India’s richest Mukesh Ambani has leapfrogged 20 spots from last year to find himself at the 21st spot. With a 30% jump in his networth the RIL chief is worth $26 billion in 2016.
# The other Indians in the list top 100 billionaires include Dilip Shanghvi of Sun Pharma at 46, Pallonji Mistry, Chairman of Shapoorji Pallonji at at 69 and Shiv Nadar of HCL at 78. With the exception of Pallonji Mistry, 2015 has seen wealth ringing in for all Indian billionaires in this list of 100. The contruction tycoon’s networth shows a decline of 19% and in 2016 stands at $13 billion.
# The e-comm boom in India has catapulted Flipkart’s Sachin and Binny Bansal to share space with India’s 111 billionaires. Their combined wealth is pegged at $1.8 billion.
# The Indian billionaires have a combined wealth of $308 billion and this has seen a spike of 16% over last year.
# There are 2188 billionaires in the world whose combined wealth is a staggering $7.3 trillion; a figure that is more than the combined GDP of Germany and UK.
# And if these figures make you giddy, then look at Bill Gates: he could very soon become the world’s first individual worth $100 billion. Currently he is worth $80 billion.
