Industry doyen Singhania pens book on Indian economy

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit released ‘On the Pathways of Development’ by Hari Shankar Singhania, president, JK organisation, on Tuesday evening. The book is a collection of the author’s speeches and articles on the Indian economy and industry. The JK organisation is part of the Singhania industrial group.
Mentioning Hari Singhania as an important player who has witnessed the Indian economy shift from socialism to capitalism, Dikshit said it is an exciting task for India to compete globally. “We must develop a sense of pride in what we do,” she said at the FICCI platform.
The 250-page hardback book deals with various topics from India’s industrialisation in the British era to India under economic liberalisation and globalisation.
Singhania, who had seen the ‘Licence Raj’ in India spoke of the transition to a market-friendly economy and his long association with the corporate world, social, political and economic changes and the advent of globalisation in India.
