Ranbaxy reappoints Arun Sawhney as CEO and MD for 5 years

Drug major Ranbaxy Laboratories today said its shareholders have approved reappointment of Arun Sawhney as CEO and Managing Director of the company for a period of five years.

Drug major Ranbaxy Laboratories today said its shareholders have approved reappointment of Arun Sawhney as CEO and Managing Director of the company for a period of five years.

The shareholders of the company at their annual general meeting held here have "unanimously approved the reappointment of Arun Sawhney as CEO and MD of the company for a period of five years with effect from January 1, 2012...," Ranbaxy said in a filing to BSE.

The AGM has also approved the reappointment of Takashi Shoda as the director of the company, it added.

Takashi Shoda was inducted as a director on the board of the company on December 19, 2008.

The AGM has also approved appointment of Percy K Shroff as the director of the company. He was inducted as a director on the board of the company on March 27, 2009 and his term had expired.

Shares of Ranbaxy Laboratories were today trading at Rs 501 in the afternoon trade on BSE, down 0.27 per cent from its previous close.
