Sensex opens 64 points up

The benchmark index opened higher by over 64 points on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Monday on heavy buying by funds and general investors.

The BSE 30-share sensitive index rose by 64.32 points at 14,714.83 in the first five minutes of trading.

Similarly, the National Stock Exchange's Nifty rose by 16.65 points at 4,334.95 points.
