Union Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma on Saturday said that "stimulus package" to the industry would continue in spite of robust recovery over the past one year.
Talking to media persons in Shimla, he said that the Rs 1.86 lakh- crore incentive given to the industry in three tranches and policy interventions to help it ride the slowdown have shown results and the industry is recovering fast.
He said a sectoral review would be conducted to identify industries in which recovery is lagging and sops would be continued for them.
Further he said that the National Manufacturing Policy was on the anvil and it would address the problems of the industry and focus on a concept of a national manufacturing and investment zone (NMIZ), besides exit policy, green technologies and new avenues of growth and incentives for units in NMIZs.
Sharma said about 100 million jobs would be created in the next seven years and merchandise trade and services would double in 20 years to catapult India among the four top economies of the world.
