Wage hikes to moderate this year: Infosys

Infosys co-chairman Krish Gopalakrishnan has warned that wage hikes and salaries this year will be moderate due to the global slowdown as well as a slower growth rate.

"Normally, we have seen that when the industry is growing very fast the salaries are on the higher side and when industry growth rate comes down salaries are on the lower side," said Gopalakrishnan at the Nasscom India Leadership Forum. "Expectations this year are that salaries will be moderate."

"The competition for talent has come down because India also has slowed down," he added.

However, he added there is still growth in emerging markets, sectors like healthcare and technologies.
