4 children drown in village pond
In a tragic incident, four boys drowned in a pond at village Kharak Khurd in Bhiwani district. The bodies were fished out today in the morning.
In a tragic incident, four boys drowned in a pond at village Kharak Khurd in Bhiwani district. The bodies were fished out on Sunday morning.
The deceased, all aged around 10 years, have been identified as Mohit, Harender, Sonu and Ravi.
Ravi from Salwan village in Kaithal district was visiting his maternal uncle, while the other three boys belonged to Kharak Khurd.
The boys reportedly went for a swim in the rain-fed pond in the village but could not gauge the depth of it. Ravi Kumar, another boy who did not join the four friends and sat on the bank, raised alarm.
The villagers rushed the victims to Bhiwani general hospital where all were declared brought dead.
The postmortem was not conducted due to request by the families of the deceased, said police.
