Advisor to administrator, health secretary and director, health and family welfare, Chandigarh, joined teams at grass-root level to continue the fight against polio.
UT adviser Vijay Kumar Dev administered polio drops to several children on the occasion of National Immunisation Day at Government High School, Kajheri village, on Sunday.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the National Immunisation Round at rural health training centre, Palsora, and Kajheri, Vijay Dev said: "We took a stand to eradicate polio form India. No case has been reported from Chandigarh since 2006."
The UT adviser appreciated the efforts being made by various departments to make polio vaccination campaigns a success. Anurag Aggarwal, secretary, health services, said the hard work of the team at ground level was commendable and their contribution was noble.
