The police had booked Singh, a resident of Sector 8, on June 20 after a complaint against him that he had created a fraudulent e-mail address of AAP Chandigarh central observer Roopinder Dhaliwal, and also sent her resignation letter to party leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia.

The party had complained to the UT senior superintendent of police that the email address, roopinderdhaliwaal@gmail.com, was being used to send misleading and malicious emails.

Apart from registering a case for forgery and cheating under the IPC, some charges related to the Information Technology Act 2000 were also slapped against Singh in a case registered at Sector-3 police station.
