Sondhi's wife was also working in Western Command and was a personal assistant to a major general in the ordnance branch.

Complainant Sunil Kumar had stated that Sondhi had asked for `2 lakh from him to get 10 people employed as labourers. Later, the deal was struck in `1 lakh.

Earlier Kumar had moved army authorities and they further directed him to CBI as Sondhi was a civilian employee and could not be tried through General Court Martial (GCM). Meanwhile, the quantum of punishment will be pronounced on May 2.
