A high-level team of the BARC, which visited the state from July 22-24, called on chief minister Parkash Singh Badal here on Wednesday.

The BARC would provide technology and engineering support for setting up these plants to also process onions, wheat, spices and other commodities. It would also provide high-yield varieties of sugarcane, pulses and groundnuts to Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, for trials.

The BARC would also set up an isotope hydrology laboratory for carrying out groundwater investigations at SAS Nagar, a spokesman said.
