Circus ground can be hired for weddings

The finance and contract committee of municipal corporation in its meeting held on Friday has decided to open circus ground in sector 17 for weddings, to restart carnival in sector 17 plaza on Saturdays and receiving applications for birth and death certificates online.

For circus ground, the MC will charge `20,000 per day and another `5000 for the erection and dismantling of tents. Mayor Subhash Chawla said the residents could start booking the ground after 10 days at the MC office and later at e-samparak centres. “It was a long pending demand of the residents and, moreover, it is non-residential area,” he said.
