Recently, the ministry of home affairs (MHA) had directed the UT to relieve Garg, a 2009 batch Arunachal Pradesh–Goa– Mizoram–Union Territories (AGMUT) IAS officer.
The Chandigarh administration had, in the past, received flak for giving extensions to AGMUT-cadre officers, despite the ministry repeatedly asking it to relieve them after completion of their respective terms.
Meanwhile, the MHA has approved name of K Narasimha, 1991-batch AGMUT officer, for transfer to Chandigarh.
