Starting at 2pm, the civic body officials, led by executive officer OP Sihag first targeted Railly village chowk from where they seized earthen pitchers.

“This material has been seized as unattended property,” said Sihag. After that, the MC officials targeted those selling fruits up to the Housing Board chowk. They also evicted those selling gravels and sand along the roadside.

“We will continue the drive today as well. In the evening, the fruit sellers returned but we cautioned them again. We will secure the MC land free of all these vendors,” added Sihag. However, the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has not been able to remove encroachments from the market corridors.
