CM okays municipal council status for Nurpur Bedi
Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday gave approval to accord the status of municipal council to the village panchayat of Nurpur Bedi in Rupnagar district.

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday gave approval to accord the status of municipal council to the village panchayat of Nurpur Bedi in Rupnagar district.
Stating this here, a spokesman for the CM's office said the decision had been taken in public interest to ensure quick dispensation of public services/utilities to people of nearby villages and to percolate benefits of policies and programmes of the state government.
The CM has also directed the secretary, local government, to issue a final notification in this regard under sections 4 and 5 of the Municipal Act, 1911.
