Court summons Kings XI Punjab's sponsor in cheque bounce case

Kings XI Punjab, had filed a complaint before the local court alleging that four cheques of `25 lakh each issued by NVD Solar Limited to Kings XI Punjab were dishonoured.

KXIP had filed a complaint against NVD Solar Limited, a solar equipment manufacturing company and its managing director Saibal Hazra.

It is pertinent to mention that Kings XI Punjab had also filed a criminal complaint with the Chandigarh police on October 16, against the team's principal sponsor, NVD Solar Limited, over non-payment of dues amounting to Rs 13.9 crore.

As per the complaint, Kings XI Punjab had entered into a three-year deal with Kolkata-based NVD Solar for carrying their company's logo on the team kit in this year's IPL for `14.3 crore per annum; but after initially paying Rs 42 lakh, the firm failed to pay the amount.
