DEO, 15 other convicted govt employees dismissed

The Punjab government on Thursday dismissed the services of 16 convicted employees of the education department, including a district education officer (DEO), with immediate effect.

The Punjab government on Thursday dismissed the services of 16 convicted employees of the education department, including a district education officer (DEO), with immediate effect.

Stating this, the state's director general, school education (DGSE), Kahan Singh Pannu said despite being convicted by various courts, these employees were serving in the department.

The dismissed employees are DEO Parmod Kumar, schoolteachers Dinesh Didwal, Amrik Singh, Jarnail Singh, Resham Singh, Pritam Singh, Jagdev Singh, Gurminder Singh, Baldev Singh, Raghvir Singh, Rachhpal Singh, Balwinder Singh, Baldev Singh and Shiv Shakha Singh, and peon Satish Kuman.

The department has also initiated the process to take such action against seven other employees, Pannu said.
