Dera chief's bail plea hearing adjourned

Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday adjourned till Monday the hearing on a bail plea of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in connection with murder and rape cases.
Justice Surya Kant adjourned the hearing following a request by Gurmit Ram's counsel SK Garg on the ground that he had to go out of station on Friday.
The CBI had filed a chargesheet in the CBI special court at Ambala last month against the chief of Sirsa-based Dera and ten others in connection with the murder of journalist Ram Chander Chatterpatti and Dera Manager Ranjit Singh and alleged rape of a disciple.
The Ambala court has issued notice for August 31 to the Dera Chief after the filing of the chargesheet by the CBI recently.
A Punjab Police team from Bhatinda will question the Dera head in connection with a case of hurting religious sentiments of Sikhs on Friday.
A case was registered against the Dera chief on May 20 after he appeared in a dress similar to that of the 10th Sikh guru Gobind Singh.
