Talking to Hindustan Times, Aggarwal said, "We are planning to tie up with the renewable energy department for solar energy in schools. So some calculation is required before taking a step. No running cost is required once these are installed. So after receiving the data we can further decide to bring many schools under this."
A school principal, on condition of anonymity, said, "It is a good initiative by the DGSE; and if started, it would provide a big relief to schools. Government high and senior secondary schools in the state have the funds to pay the electricity bill but the middle and primary schools have no funds and teachers contribute and pay the bills. After starting it in senior secondary schools, it should be replicated for primary and middle schools."
