The state's financial health may have deteriorated over the past four years, but chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal's personal income has grown four times.
Dhumal and his wife Sheela Dhumal have got richer in the past five years as their moveable assets multiplied four fold since the last elections. This was revealed by the documents submitted by Dhumal along with his nomination papers filed from the Hamirpur constituency. He has shown cash amount, residential properties, bank deposits and a SUV motor vehicle as his assets.
Dhumal declared the value of his assets as Rs 1,33,92,881, which is almost double than last year. His wife also got richer and her declared assets are of Rs 55, 13,611 worth, which is about triple the value of assets than last year.
While Dhumal's moveable assets' worth is Rs 51,26,081, his immovable assets' value is Rs 82,66,800. His wife's moveable assets' worth is Rs 30,78,611 and immovable assets' value is Rs 24,35,000.
Dhumal has only one SUV motor vehicle, Innova, which was purchased in 2007 by paying Rs 7,50,000.
Both the chief minister and his wife have Rs 53 lakh cash, of which Dhumal has Rs 45 lakh and his wife has Rs 18 lakh. Both have also 660-gm jewellery of gold, silver and diamond, the value of which is Rs 20,99,360.
While Dhumal has bank deposits and investments worth Rs 6,26,081 in various state banks, he has immovable assets worth Rs 82,66,800.
Last time, the chief minister has declared total assets of worth Rs 71,25,459.
