In her complaint to the police, the girl’s mother had alleged that the boy had lured her daughter to a secluded place behind the temple on the pretext of getting her food and money (by presenting herself as a kanjak).

The family resides at the Bhainsa Tibba village of Mansa Devi Complex (MDC) in Panchkula.
As the girl was bleeding, she was taken to the General Hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula. “The girl is out of danger and will be discharged soon,” said Dr Usha Gupta, principal medical officer, General Hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula.

“We have registered a rape case under the Indian Penal Code as well as Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. The statement of the girl under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (the statement before magistrate) is yet to be recorded as the girl is in the hospital. The medical examination of the girl has been conducted and we are awaiting the report,” said sub-inspector Sunita, who is investigating into the case.
