False alarm, 3 kids mistaken for dacoits

Local police went into a tizzy after receiving a call that members of the “kala kachha” gang had “struck” at a house in Sector 10 on Wednesday.
The police received a call around 2.30pm that some unidentified persons were trying to enter the house from the rear side. All the divisions, including crime, police control room (PCR) and police stations, were sounded alert.
Station house officer (SHO) of the Sector 3 police inspector Harjit Kaur, along with her team, rushed to the spot and found a few children trying to climb the wall of the house to pluck mangoes.
Kaur said the children were allowed to go after verification.
In the past one month, dacoits suspected to be form the “Kala Kachha” gang has struck at more than six places in the periphery to commit robbery.
Victims in all cases have claimed that the dacoits were from this dreaded gang, but the police have failed to substantiate the claims.
