Government schools will reopen after winter vacation on Tuesday. Students are expected to give schools a miss on the first day as schools will remain closed on January 7 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh.

“Not much students are expected to attend classes on Tuesday as schools will again be closed on Wednesday. Moreover, this is the usual picture in the schools on the first day after the vacation,” a government teacher said.

On other hand, there is no fixed schedule for private schools as these schools will commence after January 8 or January 12.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab government had preponed the winter break in government schools in view of the intense cold wave and extreme weather conditions in the state.
