A day after officials confirmed that Atul Kumar, a resident of Safidon town of Jind district, died of swine flu, his family got another shocker after health authorities found symptoms of H1N1 virus in his six-year-old son on Saturday. Atul Kumar (32), who was posted as assistant food and supply officer in Jind town, died on January 6, while medical reports confirmed on Friday that he died due to swine flu.

A health department team led by deputy civil surgeon, Dr Manjula, reached the house of the deceased on Saturday and conducted medical examination on his family members.
Amritsar woman’s nasal swabs being tested
The nasal and throat swabs of a 30-year-old woman resident of the walled city area have been sent to Chandigarh to test for swine flu after she had reported to a private hospital with symptoms of the disease on Monday. Cough, fever, sore throat, stuffy or runny nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue are the symptoms of the disease.
