District unit of the Indian National Lok Dal, led by Dushyant Chautala, the elder son of jailed INLD MLA Ajay Chautala, held a protest at Medical Mor, alleging recruitment scam in the recently announced results of the Haryana Civil Services (HCS) examination.
As per schedule, protesters gathered at Medical Mor on Thursday afternoon where police had installed barricades to stop them from going towards the chief minister's residence at D Park, situated nearby. Storming barricades, protesters moved towards the chief minister's residence and staged a dharna with their demand of judicial probe by a Supreme Court judge into the HCS recruitment.
The traffic on both sides of the Civil Road was blocked for more than an hour while police remained mute spectators till the memorandum was personally received by additional deputy commissioner RC Birdhan in the presence of SP Rajesh Duggal.
Addressing the gathering, Dushyant Chautala said the current regime in the state has been running a policy of favouritism and nepotism for extending benefits to their near and dear ones.
Giving examples of recently announced HCS results, he alleged that the successful aspirants' list included the names of brother-in-law of Rohtak parliamentarian Deepender Singh Hooda, niece of Rohtak MLA, BB Batra; power minister Ajay Yadav's son-in-law, chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda's kin and sons and daughters of those holding key posts in government.
He alleged all these candidates have been given a backdoor entry and a probe by a judge of the Supreme Court or high court can expose the nexus in the HCS recruitment scam.
