Main papers filed: Actors’ assets top those of netas
A look at the declaration of assets by prominent candidates for the city’s Lok Sabha seat has thrown up interesting revelations, after three nominations were filed on Friday, including those of the two Bollywood stars — the BJP’s Kirron Kher and AAP’s Gul Panag.

Kirron and her actor husband Anupam Kher have assets worth Rs 45 crore and are the richest in the fray of the prominent candidates. Kirron has ornaments worth Rs 3.73 crore. She also moves in a Mercedez Benz worth Rs 61 lakh, with husband Anupam owning a BMW (Rs 42.6 lakh) and Scorpio (Rs 8.65 lakh).
Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate Gul Panag takes the second spot with she and her husband owning assets totalling Rs 12.9 crore. Panag owns three SUVs Mahindra Scorpio (Rs 7.3 lakh), Audi Q5 (Rs 36 lakh) and Toyota Innova (Rs 12 lakh), in her name. Her husband drives a Mahindra Scorpio (Rs 7.5 lakh) and a BMW motorcycle. She and her husband own jewellery worth Rs 23 lakh.
Congress’s Pawan Bansal’s affidavit states that he and his wife have assets worth ‘just’ Rs 8.5 crore with jewellery worth Rs 44 lakh. He also owns a Maruti Esteem and a Honda City car.
Even though BSP’s Jannat Jahan is the poorest candidate among the four, she still owns an Audi worth Rs 20 lakh (in the name of her spouse). She has declared jewellery worth Rs 20 lakh in her declaration.
