Man convicted for trying to rape 5-year-old

A local court convicted a man for trying to rape a five-year-old girl, a resident of Sector 41, Chandigarh. The convict has been identified as Nizeemudin, a resident of Gawala colony, Chandigarh.
The court will pronounce the quantum of sentence on Tuesday. The UT police had arrested Nizeemudin on the complaint of a Sector 41 resident, who accused him of trying to rape their five-year-old daughter.
In the complaint, the father of the victim alleged that his minor daughter had gone to buy curd from a nearby shop on April 13 and the accused had kidnapped her on her way back. The victim's father alleged that the accused had even tried to rape the victim.
