Man kills 3-yr-old step-daughter in Phagwara

A man beat his step-daughter to death in the local Dashmesh Nagar here on Saturday.Superintendent of the police Phagwara HPS Khakh told reporters that Shanti, the mother of Sanjana, the victim, had left her husband Bheem Bahadur, a factory worker, last year and started living in with her lover Rahul along with her daughter.

When Shanti got pregnant with his child, Rahul could not tolerate his step-daughter and started torturing Sanjana physically.

The child was mercilessly beaten to death by him on Saturday SP Khakh said.

Police arrested Rahul under section 302 IPC and kept the the body in a mortuary. A post-mortem examination would be conducted on Sunday
