Minimum temp remains below normal in Punjab, Haryana

Minimum temperatures settled up to four notches below normal in most parts of Punjab and Haryana even as bright sunshine was recorded during the day in these areas of the states.

Minimum temperatures settled up to four notches below normal in most parts of Punjab and Haryana even as bright sunshine was recorded during the day in these areas of the states.

Amritsar was coldest in the plains of Punjab and Haryana, with night temperature settling at a low of 5.8 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal.

While Karnal had a low of six degrees C, four notches below normal, the minimum temperature at Narnaul was 6.6 degrees C, three notches below normal.

Among other places, Hisar had a low of 7.6 degrees C, three notches below normal, followed by 8.5 degrees C at Ludhiana, one notch below normal.

Patiala and Bhiwani recorded an identical minimum at 9 degrees, one notch below normal.

Chandigarh witnessed a low of 9.4 degrees, one notch below normal whereas Ambala settled at 11.3 degrees C.

The Met department has forecast dry weather with further increase in temperature in the region.
