With the town gearing up for the New Year eve celebrations, the SAS administration and police have also made adequate security arrangements to maintain law and order.
As per the directives of SAS Nagar deputy commissioner Varun Roojam, hotels, clubs, restaurants and marriage places will not be allowed to continue with New Year eve parties after 12.30 am on December 31. The directive has been issued to ensure that no law and order situation arises.

"Hooliganism will not be tolerated. We have divided the entire district in sectors and sub-sectors. Each sub-sector is under the control of a station house officer, while sectors will be supervised by DSPs," said SAS Nagar SSP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar. He added that: "In case of any incident of eve-teasing, hooliganism or any other law and order situation, the officer concerned will be held responsible."
