No transfers during MC polls in Punjab
The Punjab government has decided not to transfer or post the state officials and employees during elections to eight municipal corporations and 123 municipal councils and nagar panchayats.

The Punjab government has decided not to transfer or post the state officials and employees during elections to eight municipal corporations and 123 municipal councils and nagar panchayats.
An official spokesman said here on Saturday that the decision had been taken in light the model of conduct imposed for these elections. The municipal elections in Phagwara, Pathankot, SAS Nagar, Hoshiarpur, Moga and Bathinda; and municipal byelections in Jalandhar (ward 49), and Patiala (wards 8 and 46) are scheduled for February 22.
Elections to the 123 municipal councils and nagar panchayats will be held on February 25 along with the civic byelections to ward 2 (general) of Bariwala Nagar Panchayat in Muktsar district.
