Panjab University has rescheduled the winter vacations for a total of 188 affiliated colleges from December 28 to January 14.

Earlier, the varsity had issued two separate vacation schedules for faculty taking classes under semester system and annual examination system.
For the annual system, the winter vacations were scheduled from December 28 to January 14, and for semester system, vacations were scheduled from December 28 to January 8.
The decision was taken following a representation submitted by fellow Kuldip Singh, Dalip Kumar, Jagwant Singh, Mukesh Arora and RPS Josh.
Kuldip Singh said that the university authorities had prepared two schedules of winter vacations in which duration of the vacations was reduced for the teachers under semester system.
"There cannot be two schedules for vacations," said Kuldip Singh, who thanked the authorities for accepting their genuine demand.
Confirming the development, dean college development council (DCDC) Naval Kishore said the winter vacation had been rescheduled to December 28 to January 14.
