Past 'misdeeds' prick Cong leaders now: Badal

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday sought to turn the tables on opposition's allegation of vendetta politics, saying the charge was born out of guilt conscience as the Congress was "vindictive" while in power.

"It's strange to see yesterday's arrogant autocrats suddenly showing themselves off as poor, innocent and defenceless victims," he said in a statement in Chandigarh.

Responding to Congress's allegation in New Delhi that the SAD-BJP government was following vendetta politics, he said not a single Congress legislator had been called to a police station during the SAD-BJP regime.

Badal said, on the contrary, former Akali ministers and senior leaders were arrested, harassed and subjected to third degree methods in police stations in false cases while Congress was in power.
