The meeting was attended by over 50 villagers, including sarpanch and other representatives. After an interactive session on water, sanitation and health (WaSH), the villagers selected the members of the village water and sanitation committee.

The meeting was chaired by Dr Ravindra Khaiwal. He highlighted, "When a community set its priorities and needs, it is more likely to be sustainable and acceptable. The Union government has initiated various such schemes, including Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, at the national and state level to provide safe drinking water, improved sanitation and to promote environmental sustainability."

The formulation of village water and sanitation committee will help rural communities in implementation of the welfare schemes, and improve the quality of life.
