Prof Arun Grover appointed as new PU vice chancellor

Professor Arun Kumar Grover, a senior professor at the School of Natural Sciences, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai was appointed as the new vice chancellor of the Panjab University by vice president Hamid Ansari today.

Prof Grover would take charge for a term of three years from July 22, 2012 when the current vice chancellor Professor RC Sobti would retire.

Hamid Ansari who is also the chancellor of the university had on February 9, 2012 constituted an expert committee with justice (retd.) Leila Seth as convenor and Dr P Rama Rao and ambassador IS Chadha as members to select three potential candidates for the post.
