Punjab: DCs to handle rehabilitation, resettlement

The Punjab government has notified the appointment of the divisional commissioners of Patiala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Faridkot and Rupnagar to work as commissioners, rehabilitation and resettlement, in their respective divisions, under provisions of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.

According to an official spokesperson for the revenue, rehabilitation and disaster management department, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana and SAS Nagar districts have been notified as high-potential growth districts.

Bathinda, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, Rupnagar and Nawanshahr districts have been notified as middle-potential districts, while the low-potential districts are Muktsar, Barnala, Faridkot, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Mansa, Moga, Pathankot, Sangrur and Tarn Taran.
