He said all district treasuries had already started online payments to beneficiaries from April 1. The minister said Punjab was the first state in the country to initiate the process.

Dhindsa added that as part of the e-sarkar project, online facility had been provided to all departments to submit all cases for release of funds online to the finance department.

It has also been decided that no physical files would be required to be submitted and necessary instructions have been issued by the state government to all departments, he added.
